In our present climate we have all been made aware how important a garden designed bearing in mind the drought tolerance of plants. Water is now seen as a precious commodity so the installation of water tanks and grey water systems for garden irrigation is definately food for thought when designing any garden.

Another important factor in the construction of a garden is soil type. For example on the Mornington peninsula soil in Blairgowrie/Sorrento is a calcerous sand as opposed to the heavy clay soil of Redhill so it naturally follows construction, choice of plants and materials can vary considerably.

The diversity of indiginous plants on the peninsula is vast and we try where appropriate to use these plants as they have adapted over the years to tolerate and thrive in some harsh conditions eg: sandy coastal areas with poor soil and high winds.
